COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

 Andrew Clifton, trading as Impressions Photography, asserts his moral, commercial and intellectual rights to be known as the author of the works produced.

You are required to have explicit prior permission and consent to use, borrow or display any photograph or text or video content from this site.   Without such prior permission and consent, photographs displayed on are not licensed for gain, commercial or public use or use in the public domain.  In order for such any licence to be obtained, the following conditions must be met: 

  • First, a request, in writing, to Andrew Clifton (trading as ‘Impressions Photography’) for permission to use the requested items.

  • Second, a reply from Andrew Clifton specifying the fee required and the conditions and limits of said licence.

  • Third, payment of said fee.

  • Forth, strict adherence to said conditions, including but not limited to clear and conspicuous credit and acknowledgement on each of the items used, including my full name, trading name, contact telephone number and web address. 

Please note that I will vigorously pursue unauthorised use of our copyrighted materials. If you have a question about any specific usage you would like to undertake, please contact me to ask for clarification or permission before proceeding with any such use.

 

RIGHTS AND USAGE LICENCES FOR PRIVATE CLIENTS

As a private client, your contract includes “Home Use Rights” which means that you can use the images and video content delivered to you for personal, non-transferable and non-commercial uses, as specified below.

  • You may make as many prints as you like for yourself, or to give away as gifts.

  • You may place web-optimised copies of the images and post video content on your personal website and/or on social media for viewing, provided that prints or digital copies are not offered for sale; and provided that all such items are credited to Andrew Clifton, Impressions photography, as specified in the contract.

  • Without the copyright owner’s prior permission, no other person shall be authorised by you to use the images and/or video content in any form whatsoever.

  • You agree to be held personally liable for the actions of any person who receives any image or video content directly, or indirectly, from you. You may not sell the image files, video content or prints produced from the files whether in original form, or after any amount of alteration.

  • No persons may use the image or video files as a basis for the creation of any artworks if that artwork is to be used for any commercial purpose. No rights to these items may be transferred to any other person or company, whether for profit, or as a gift.

  • The images or video content may not be displayed or printed in any commercial media, for any purpose whatsoever, without written permission from the photographer.

RIGHTS AND USAGE LICENCES FOR PROFESSIONAL AND COMMERCIAL CLIENTS

As a professional or commercial client, your contract may include a specific and pre-agreed usage licence agreement.

  • Any usage licences must be fully specified and agreed in the contract and these conditions of such licences must be adhered to by the client at all times.

  • The client agrees to be held personally liable for the actions in violation of said licence of any person who receives an image directly, or indirectly, from you.

  • You may not sell the image files or prints produced from the files whether in original form, or after any amount of alteration.
